Elizabeth "Betsy" Kelly has been practicing speech and langauge pathology for the past 15 years. She received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University, then went on to earn a Master's Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Betsy began her career working with children and young adults having severe to profound communication and behavioral disorders. Her next professional experiences were with individuals having orthopedic impairments as well as complex communication needs. Most recently, she has gained expertise in working with children ages birth to three and preschool aged children on the autism spectrum, and has come to specialize in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
Betsy's therapeutic experiences to date have led her to a down-to-earth, family centered approach to therapy. Therapy with Betsy will include motivating, fun activities designed to target goals, as well as opportunities for parents to learn and practice skills with their children. She strongly emphasizes partnering with parents, and is certified in the Hanen method of parent training. Most of all, Betsy believes that every child deserves an opportunity to reach his or her highest communication potential.
